Tell us about your time at Bright Data?
Bright Data was my first ‘big’ job. I started in deploy (part-time) as a student for 2 years. After that, I was one of the first on the SDR team, where I spent around 1 year – we basically built the department together – and I was also in charge of the commission reports.
Following that, and once I had a good base about the products and the company, I really wanted to get into the product side of things. I had a talk with Or, the CEO, and we discussed how we could make this happen. Today, I am a project manager in the product team and this has been my role for around a year.
What interests you about the product field?
First of all, I studied industrial engineering – so getting into the product field has always been my aim. I prefer working with R&D, seeing code, understanding the background structures, etc. – this is what interests me.
Advice for someone wanting to get into the product field?
I would say you need to be very tech-oriented. I also think it’s a good idea to start off in other fields first and get a well-rounded understanding of a company and its products. Because I started in deploy and SDR, I got a ‘behind the scenes,’ thorough understanding of the products and business. I really think it’s a great way to understand how everything works.
In addition, you have to be very strong and have thick skin. You can’t take everything to heart – that’s something that I’m always working on improving. Oh, and of course, you need to give 100% – sometimes that requires working long hours.
What's kept you at Bright Data for 4 years?
I think the first thing that’s kept me here for so long is that I’ve changed positions 3 times. I always look to the future and look for my next challenge. Even when I was working in deploy, I tried to find other positions and spoke to other people in the company because I was curious. I think the main thing is that I’ve never been bored. And now especially in the product team, it’s a huge challenge – so it definitely keeps things interesting.
Future plans?
Currently, I am a project manager on the product team. My plan is to eventually become a product manager and solely focus on the products.
